Used Cars Advantages
Most people hesitate when it comes to purchasing car, the most frequent question that they have being: should I buy a new one or a used one? The choice is theirs but the essential thing is to be aware of both possibilities and their advantages. Those of you who have decided to purchase a used car made a smart choice, because you can get an almost new car without having to suffer the depreciation a new car undergoes. It is a fact that used cars are 20 or even 30 percent cheaper than the new ones and that they will definitely help you save some money.
used cars present several advantages that are worth taking into consideration. First of all, buying a used car means that you will be able to afford a more luxurious model. Next, you will save a significant amount of money on insurance and finding a near new-car vehicle is not that difficult and bargains are a possibility for those of you who are smart shoppers.
Used cars considered a risk by some people because of the lack of reliability and the expense of repairs. However, these are old issues because nowadays used cars are more reliable than they used too, some of them are still under factory warranty, most carmakers sell certified used cars which have warranties, you can easily find out the history of an used car and the financing rates for such cars have dropped considerably these years.
Used cars purchasing is no longer a risk but a good deal, as long as you know how to bargain and where to shop from. Finding a great deal of a used car can be very rewarding from a financial point of view. However, if you are having doubts regarding the condition of the used vehicle you intend to purchase, we advise you to perform a vehicle check that will reveal any potential problems. Thus, you will know exactly what you are getting and how much you should pay for it.
Used cars are nowadays durable and reliable due to manufacturers and engineers, having almost the same value as a new car. Since new car prices are continuously growing, used cars are becoming more appealing. Used car dealers can also put at your disposal certified used cars, which have gained much popularity and can be found at most car dealers. The most important benefit of certified used cars is the fact that you are purchasing a car that has been checked out carefully and turned out to be in a good condition, thus receiving an extended warranty.
Used car dealers will offer you certified warranty for used cars only if it meets the highest standards set by the manufacturer of the automobile. Furthermore, once you purchase such a car most dealers will let you three days to see if the car is right for you. Other benefits of certified used cars are roadside assistance, lower loan rates, free of charge maintenance together with oil changes and inspections.
Used car dealers consider that the most important benefit of such cars is the long time warranty that you receive which is low cost and will help you save hundreds of dollars. Used car dealers will show you a wide range of models, brands and colors, offering good quality cars, well-maintained and having an impeccable look.

Buy Certified Pre-owned Cars
Buyers have been suggesting for a long time that the used cars should be inspected, repaired and then sold. The dealers felt it would not be worth the effort and the price. Then the car manufacturers came into the picture. They told the dealers to pay for the inspection and repair of the car. Then the manufacturers would give a warranty on these certified ‘pre-owned’ cars.
If you buy a pre-owned car without certification, you have to check out the condition of the car, the title deed, the maintenance history and get it inspected and repaired. All these procedures will be taken care of by the dealer itself. So, a certified pre-owned car is definitely a good deal.
There are two types of certified cars. One of them is factory backed and the other is dealer backed.
The factory backed pre-owned certified car means that the factory gives a warranty and there is no cost that you have to bear. If the car is taken to any dealer dealing with the same brand of car, you have warranty for it. If you are on vacation too, and have some problem with your car, you can take it to the dealers who sell your brand of car and get the problem fixed. You will also get the same sort of coverage as a person with a new car will get. There will be representatives who will do periodic checks to ensure that inspection and repairs have been made. Multipoint inspections would have been made on the car. So, if for example, the brakes have only 60% of life left in them, they will have to be replaced.
In a dealer backed pre-certified car, you have to buy an extended warranty for the coverage of your car through the dealer or the insurance company. It has also to be brought back to selling dealer for any service or repair that you might need. Without a factory warranty, only the exterior of the car might have been repaired. An engine that has little life left in it might not have been repaired. Multipoint inspections on the car might not have been made. So, if the brake has only 60% of life left in it, you have to hope that the extended warranty covers it.
A new car is very expensive. A certified pre-owned car is an alternative. A car that has been pre-owned is inspected, repaired and warranted and sold to you. Although it might cost more, the advantage of having peace of mind is a very important factor.
Whether you are buying a factory backed or dealer backed certified pre-owned car, be sure that you know what is covered in the warranty and what is not. You should also know what deductible you should pay and who will do the repairs on the car. Check the certification list and find out if the major parts have been inspected and repaired. Check the mileage and age of the car on the warranty. Take the car for a long drive. Cars.com Kelly Blue Book Used-Car Values will give you the pricing tool to know the price of the car you want to buy depending on its present condition, mileage and other factors.

Certified Pre-owned Vehicles: the Future for the Canadian Automotive Market?
As the market continues to go into despair, your lease is coming due; what should you do? Leasing is now overpriced and financing is just too expensive. The obvious answer is to look for a less expensive alternative. Pre-owned vehicles will see their stocks rise over the next several years as the value has now become overly apparent. The most depreciation a vehicle succumbs to in terms of price, typically comes in the first year of the cars life. So, why has the majority of Canadian strained away from used vehicles and made leasing the popular choice? Simply, Canadians are apprehensive about buying for fear of buying someone else’s problems. There has been a stigma attached to the used vehicle, Canadians look at second hand vehicles in a way of inferior quality.
Rather than taking the perceived risk on quality, Canadians leaned to leasing which offered the alternative, which was a new car fully warranted and guaranteed. Leasing a car at a new car price combined with the interest rates represents one of the poorest financial decisions one can make. Essentially, one is renting a vehicle and after 3-4 years has zero equity in it. Not to mention in 3-4 years the vehicle is typically not worth even close to cost associated with the buyback. Now, as leases are spiralling into a downfall Canadians must turn to yet another corner. Today, Canadians must begin to see the light; the used cars of today are not what they have been in the past. Over the past decade, the quality of vehicles have seen significant increases, which have led to used cars and used trucks lasting longer, looking better and driving newer. As used autos have become highly durable as their quality continues to increase. From an expense stand point a used auto is also the way to go. Buying a car that is two or three years old can allow some to save over 50% from its original manufacturer’s price. In addition one can purchase extended warranty to truly give people the feeling and comfort of buying a new vehicle. Furthermore, buying a used car will allow many to buy a vehicle that they could never have afforded new. Therefore some, who were thinking of buying an economy car, can now purchase a luxury car that is of a couple years old. The advantages are quite apparent and now with the advent of the Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle, Canadians may finally follow in the footsteps of Americans by making the pre owned vehicle the popular choice among the nation.
Buying a certified preowned vehicle provides all the feeling and comfort of buying new, but at price that is much more affordable with respect to the particular vehicles’ sticker price. A certified pre-owned vehicle can only be purchased from a franchised dealer. TO become a certified pre owned vehicle, autos must be with in a certain age, mileage and meet a thorough inspection. If they meet these standards, the vehicle is then fully restored to new condition and sold with a manufacturers extended warranty. In addition most certified pre-owned vehicle programs offer roadside assistance, exchange or money back guarantees as well as vehicle history reports. All in all, a certified preowned vehicle gives you all of the comfort of a new car purchase, but at price Canadians can afford.
One must only buy a car from a dealer licensed by a manufacturer since the requirements to be a true certified pre owned vehicles are stipulated by the manufacturers themselves. Anyone can “certify” or even guarantee a car or truck but a certified pre owned vehicle is thoroughly inspected and then restored to new condition.
Certified pre-owned vehicle programs have already had a dramatic effect in the automotive market. There popularity should only continue to increase as franchised dealers continue to stress the value. The price difference of buying a car or truck that’s certified preowned vs. new couldn’t be more evident, in turn the minimal price increases of certified pre owned vehicles vs. used can only be perceived as worthwhile in terms of value. This why we believe that Canada will see a dramatic increase in certified preowned vehicle sales, as dealers have worked to remove the apprehension from buying a second hand vehicle.

Why are some cars certified at major dealerships and some are not.?
I went car shopping today and saw a small percentage of Lexus RX 330′s certified. THey have low mileage 20,000 to 30,000 for a 3 year old car, good car fax with one owner, but don’t understand why some cars are certified Pre Owned Certified and some are not.
The Certification process is a rigorous series of tests and inspection points. If the car doesn’t meet the criteria it can’t be certified. Certification means the best of the best. Not all cars qualify.
It’s also a way of charging more for a particular vehicle. Side by side the certified car will always be more money than the un-certified model.
